Mt. Tammany
Rising on the banks of the Delaware River, on the border of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, is Mt. Tammany. While it pales in comparison to other mountains on the East Coast, it’s overlook provides an epic view of the Delaware Water Gap and the rolling hills of eastern Pennsylvania. It’s a nice refuge for nature and wildlife but can easily get overcrowded being an hour and a half from both Philly and New York City.
The mountain is also the start of the New Jersey section of the Appalachian Trail, so keep an eye out for through hikers!
